Flexible electronic materials and their applications

Flexible substrate

In order to meet the requirements of flexible electronic devices, thin, transparent, flexible and tensile properties, insulation and corrosion resistance become the key indicators of flexible substrate.

Common flexible materials are: polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), polyester (PET), polyimide (PI), poly (naphthalene dimethyl glycol) (pen), paper, textile materials, etc.

Due to the advantages of high temperature resistance, low temperature resistance, chemical resistance and good electrical properties, polyimide is a material with more potential for flexible electronics. In addition to the high temperature resistance, the optical transmittance, surface roughness and material cost of flexible substrate should be considered in the selection of flexible substrate.

Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) is also a widely recognized flexible material. Its advantages include easy access, chemical stability, transparency and thermal stability. In particular, the distinct characteristics of the adhesion and non adhesion regions under UV light make it easy to adhere to electronic materials.

Although the conversion temperature of pet is low, about 70 ~ 80 ℃, but pet is cheap and has good light penetration, so it is a transparent conductive film with high cost performance.
